One of the leading reasons why Oktoberfest Brisbane is named one of the top 10 Oktoberfest celebrations outside Germany by National Geographic is due to the spectacular line-up of authentic Bavarian entertainment.
Following century-old Bavarian tradition, Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner will tap the first keg of Bier at the festival’s Anzapfen ceremony to kick start the festivities. The Bavarian Oompah band will light up the main stage in the Oktoberfest Tent with traditional and modern classics like ‘Fliegerlied’ and ‘Ein Prosit’.
Taking stage alongside will be Heidi the Yodeller and the Alpenrosen Dance Group for a shoe-slapping, cow-bell ringing spectacle adding to a line-up of live entertainment which has everyone involved sooner or later.
The Miss Oktoberfest Brisbane and Bavarian Strongmen competitions, which have become a crowd-favourite tradition, have supportive spectators cheering from the sidelines to see who is crowned the winner. Top it all off with Autoshow with cars lined up across the village to showcase the sleek, the stylish and the vintage, giving festivalgoers a taste of German car perfection.
