Established in 1934 in Wolfenbüttle, Germany – an idyllic town with winding streets, half-timbered houses and 52,00 inhabitants- Jägermeister is the world’s most loved herbal liqueur.
Originally a vinegar manufacturer, Curt Mast’s passion was producing spirits. It took a few years before the taste inventor found the perfect recipe for his herb-flavoured liqueur. First, it was too sweet, then lacking in citrus. When finally ready, the recipe consists of 56 herbs, blossoms, roots and fruits and contains 35% vol of alcohol.
The name “Jägermeister” was well-known in Wolfenbüttel due to its centuries-old hunting tradition and the Hubertus legend, but Curt Mast liked the name not only because he was a hunter, but also because it appealed to his target audience.
This year, Oktoberfest Brisbane welcomes Jägermeister as a festival partner to our Schnaps bar offering the “Jager Bull” (Jägermeister and Red Bull) and the “Jager Mule” (Jägermeister and Ginger Ale).
Along with having a great bar on-site for all to enjoy the Jägermeister experience, we also hosted the “Name our Oompah Band” competition to win the ultimate Jägermeister X Oktoberfest Brisbane Experience. Thanks to all who entered to name our homegrown Oompah band. The winning name was Wolpertinger. Congrats to Paul C who was the lucky winner amongst those who chose the winning name. Paul won a Jägermeister single tap machine, merch pack, Oktoberfest Brisbane VIP experience and MORE!
Welcome to the Oktoberfest Brisbane family, Jägermeister, Prost to many more!
